A
brief Introduction
to Islam
Today Islam is rapidly
becoming the worlds largest religion, and soon it will displace Christianity into second place. In fact in many western countries it is becoming the fastest
growing , yet most misunderstood religion.
Why?
Well this web site with its
1000,s of links will hopefully answer this question.
This incredible growth is causing concern amongst the superficially secular western
governments. So they are conjuring allsorts of schemes to halt it; like banning
hijab, preventing mosques from being built by refusing planning permission,
declaring open war on Muslim countries and its people, etc, they claim freedom
of speech for others but not for Muslims.
Where are
they?
There are over 1.7 billion people of the
world who practice Islam and this number is growing very fast. People from all walks of life, seeking truth and
wholeness, are converting
to Islam in significant numbers. In a few years, Islam
will be the religion with the largest number of followers on Earth, superseding
Christianity. Despite these facts, there exist a number of false yet widespread
ideas about Islam. Often, these ideas are the result of ignorance, prejudice,
orientalist bias, missionary polemics, media distortion or just plain, good old-fashioned
propaganda.
What is it?
A person who is unfamiliar with Islamic
teachings might be surprised to hear that Islam does not rely upon blind faith
to make its case, but rather, encourages us to use our minds. For example, the
Qur'an invites us to ponder upon the wonders of creation, and
challenges us with intellectual arguments. Further study of the Qur'an
demonstrates that sound reasoning and scientific knowledge confirm rather than
contradict authentic revelation. Indeed, one of the many unique aspects of Islam
is its ability to satisfy the intellect whilst bringing peace to the soul. This
might explain why so many educated people are accepting islam. It is a religion
of reason and thought.
What does the word
Islam mean?
Islam is an Arabic word which means 'Submission
to the Will of God'. A Muslim therefore, is one who submits to the will
of God. Islam is based upon two basic principles. The first principle is that
there is none worthy of worship except God, who is absolutely unique and
transcendent. The second principle is that Muhammad
.
is the final messenger of God, who was sent to all of mankind. These two
principles are mentioned in the testimony of faith - the first pillar of Islam: There
is none worthy of worship but God - Muhammad is the messenger of God.
This simple yet profound truth is the foundation of a perfect, comprehensive and
beautiful way of life.
Is it a new
religion?
No Islam is not new religion, but a
continuation of the simple and powerful message of pure monotheism revealed by
God throughout history. Islam is the one true religion,
preached by all the messengers and prophets of God, including Adam, Noah,
Abraham, Moses and Jesus - peace be upon them all. With the revelation of the
Qur'an to God's final and greatest messenger Muhammad
. ,
the pinnacle of this divinely revealed religion was reached, and the message of
God to mankind completed and perfected. Embracing Islam is the
sole means to fulfilling the purpose of our existence, which in turns leads to
the attainment of true inner peace and eternal salvation.

What are the guiding Books called ?
What are the Five pillars of Islam?

Despite all the negative propaganda regarding Muslim women, female converts to Islam outnumber their male counterparts by an estimated ratio of 4:1 !
How do Muslims behave in Society ?
What are the elements of Worship ?
What is the unseen or the hidden World ?
I want to learn about the Islamic History ?
How do we call others to Islam ?
Are they many people converting to Islam?
Yes, the advancement of communications and internet technology has brought a revolution. Islam is a true religion and its followers are so passionate about it that they have set up their own web-sites. On this site we have lots of links and stories of converts.
In fact in North America and Europe, Islam is the fastest growing religion and Christianity is on the decline. This worry is causing western governments to find some way of stopping this trend. With the help of the media, they are advocating banning Hijab, preventing mosques from being built and the classical witch hunt is demonizing the faith. Fortunately all this is not working.

Allah
Promised to Protect the Qur’an*

One of the Qur’an’s most important attributes is that it reached us in the very same form in which it was revealed to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In: [We have sent down the Reminder, and We will preserve it.] (Al-Hijr 15: 9), Allah promised to protect it. The Divine Scriptures that were revealed before Islam lost their original forms over time; they are either incomplete or not fully accurate. In the case of the Qur’an, however, Allah placed the revelations into our Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) memory. In addition, after he received each revelation, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told his numerous Companions to write them down, thereby ensuring the Qur’an’s preservation in its original textual form. Caliph Abu Bakr (632-634) had the Qur’an compiled into a single copy, and Caliph Uthman (644-656) had copies of it sent to important Islamic cities. The following verses explain how our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tried to remember the revelations, and how Allah helped him do so: [Do not move your tongue trying to hasten it. Its collection and recitation are Our affair. So when We recite it, follow its recitation. Then its explanation is Our concern.] (Al-Qiyamah 75: 16-19) As the verses maintain, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remembered the Qur’an in a unique way, for Allah implanted its verses in his mind. As his Companions wrote it all down while he was still alive, in compliance with His promise, each of its letters has remained unaltered since the beginning of its revelation over 1,400 years ago. Therefore, Allah’s revelation has survived intact to our day. The Qur’an’s lack of any internal contradiction and discrepancy also shows that it is from Allah and is immune to change. The Qur’an is internally consistent and in full agreement with historical developments and scientific discoveries. This attribute is so certain and explicit that our Lord stated: [Will they not ponder the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it.] (An-Nisaa’ 4: 82) Many contradictions can be found in regular books. However, every word of the Qur’an is in full agreement with the others. In addition, the Qur’an provides information about previous generations, communities, different forms of administration, military strategies, and many other subjects, as well as about past and future events. The Qur’an is also in absolute agreement with historical facts as well as all developments that occurred after its revelation. For instance, the first verses of Surat Ar-Rum (the Byzantine Empire) state that the Byzantine Empire would suffer a great defeat, but nevertheless would be victorious shortly thereafter, as follows: [Alif, Lam, Mim. The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land, but after their defeat they will be victorious in a few years’ time. The affair is Allah’s from the beginning to the end.] (Ar-Rum 30: 1-4) These verses were revealed around 620 CE, almost 7 years after the idolatrous Persians vanquished the Christian Byzantines. In fact, Byzantium had been so severely defeated that its very survival was in question. Thus, its predicted victory seemed impossible to many, including the Arab polytheists. In
December 627 CE, the Byzantine and Persian empires fought a decisive
battle at Nineveh
. This time, the Byzantines unexpectedly defeated the Persians. A few
months later, the Persians had to make an agreement with Another
attribute of the Qur’an is that it contains key facts about many
subjects (for example, astronomy, physics, and biology), at a time when
people knew very little about such things. The Qur’an was revealed to
the inhabitants of seventh-century [Allah raised up the heavens without any support – you can see that... ] (Ar-Ra`d 13: 2) Several scientific truths only recently uncovered by technology were stated in the Qur’an 1,400 years ago. Such facts are further evidence that the Qur’an is the Word of Allah. The Qur’an is written in a language of such surpassing beauty and richness of reference that it transcends ordinary speech. At the time of its revelation, the poets of Arabia competed with each other to produce the best literary works. However, the Qur’an’s uniquely beautiful style earned their admiration, and they could not help themselves from accepting its wondrous nature in the literary sense. This aside, an intricate mathematical code, far beyond the ability of human intelligence, is imbedded in the Qur’an’s fabric. Some related words are repeated the same number of times throughout the Qur'an. For instance: day is repeated 365 times, days is repeated 30 times, month is repeated 12 times, satan and angel are repeated 88 times, world and hereafter are repeated 115 times, summer-hotness and winter-coldness are repeated 5 times, punishment is repeated 117 times, forgiveness is repeated 234 times (twice as much as punishment), wealth is repeated 26 times, and poverty is repeated 13 times. Such facts clearly show the Qur’an is the Word of Allah, not of humanity. It is Allah’s revelation to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and has remained unaltered since it was revealed. Allah expresses this superior attribute as follows: [If you have doubts about what We have sent down to Our servant, produce another surah equal to it, and call your witnesses, besides Allah, if you are telling the truth. If you do not do that – and you will not do it – then fear the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, made ready for the unbelievers. ] (Al-Baqarah 2: 23-24) [Say: “If both humanity and jinn banded together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could never produce anything like it, even if they backed each other up.” ] (Al-Israa’ 17: 88) * Taken with kind permission from Taking the Qur’an as a Guide, by Harun Yahya with slight modifications. Harun Yahya was born in Ankara in 1956. He studied arts at Istanbul’s Mimar Sinan University, and philosophy at Istanbul University. Since the 1980s, he has published many books on political, faith-related and scientific issues. |

Although the word 'Dajjal' - which comes from the Arabic word meaning 'to deceive', 'to cheat', 'to smear with tar' - does not appear in the Qur'an, the Dajjal is described in considerable detail in all major collections of Hadith, including the two well-known Sahih collections of Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim, especially in the sections which are concerned with 'the last days', the period of time immediately preceding the end of the world, as well as in many other compilations of Hadith such as Al-Mishkat Al-Masabih, The Gardens of the Righteous, and Al-Muwatta' of Imam Malik:There are three aspects of the Dajjal. There is Dajjal the individual. There is Dajjal as a worldwide social and cultural phenomenon. There is Dajjal as an unseen force. (According to scholarly opinions, the latter two aspects will be established before Dajjal the individual will appear. That is, he will appear when the support system he needs is in place throughout the world either directly or indirectly).
Dajjal the individual will be the epitome of the kafir system, the ultimate kafir, and therefore inevitably to be chosen as the leader of that system, when he appears. The letters KFR are the basic root letters of the Arabic word Kufr, or Kafir. Kufr is to cover up and to reject. The kafir is the one who covers up the true nature of existence - and who rejects the messengers who are sent by Allah to show people how to live in harmony with what is within in them and with what is without them, and to worship and have knowledge of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad said that kufr is one system. The Kufr system is Dajjal. The three aspects of Dajjal are in fact interlinked and indivisible.
Dajjal is also described in the Hadith as having many eyes on both sides, and travelling about the world in large hops. Among other descriptions of the Dajjal in the Hadith collections we find the following: Dajjal can be heard all over the world at the same time. Dajjal will talk of the Fire (Jahannam), and make it seem like the Garden (Jannah). Dajjal [the Sick Man of Humanity] will talk of the Garden, and make it seem like the Fire. [Two examples of these relate to matters of justice and peace. He will proclaim justice but he will pursue injustice, and he will proclaim peace but he will pursue the opposite of peace and every proclaimation by him of the so-called peace will be a deterioration of whatever is left of peace. That is, he will do exactly opposite of what he proclaims].
Among other possibilities mentioned elsewhere, it may well be that Dajjal as the unseen force is none other than a horde of Kafir Jinn, as opposed to being beings of some other kind. It is not known from which world they come. It is known that there are many worlds. Allah is described in the Qur'an, in Surat 'al-Fatiha, as 'Lord of the Worlds.' Ibn al-'Arabi visited some of these world in vision, and describes these experiences in his book The Mekkan Revelations. He names vast cities possessing technologies far superior to the ones of which some people on this earth boast today.
It is not known for certain exactly when Dajjal the individual is going to appear. It is not known for certain exactly when the Mahdi, the rightly guided leader of the Muslims, who walks in the foot-steps of the Prophet Muhammad, may the blessings and peace of Allah be on him, is going to appear...
From Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him:
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:'The Prophets are like brothers; they have different mothers but their life transaction is one. I am the closest of all the people to Jesus son of Mary, because there is no other Prophet between him and myself. He will come again, and when you see him, you will recognize him. He is of medium height and his colouring is reddish-white. He will be wearing two garments, and his hair will look wet. He will break the cross, kill the pigs, abolish the jizya and call the people to Islam. During his time, Allah will end every religion and sect other than Islam, and will destroy the Dajjal. Then peace and security will prevail on earth, so that lions will graze with camels, tigers with cattle, and wolves with sheep; children will be able to play with snakes without coming to any harm. Jesus will remain for forty years, then die, and the Muslims will pray for him.' (It was related by Ibn Hanbal). From An-Nuwas ibn Sam'an, may Allah be pleased with him:
One morning the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, spoke about the Dajjal. Sometimes he described him as insignificant, and sometimes he described him as so dangerous that we thought he was in the clump of date-palms nearby. When we went to him later on, he noticed that fear in our faces, and asked,'What is the matter with you?'We said,'O Messenger of Allah, this morning you spoke of the Dajjal; sometimes you described him as insignificant, and sometimes you described him as being so dangerous that we thought he was in the clump of date-palms nearby.
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'I fear for you in other matters besides the Dajjal. If he appears whilst I am among you, I will contend with him on your behalf. But if he appears while I am not among you, then each man must contend with him on his own behalf, and Allah will take care of every Muslim on my behalf. The Dajjal will be a young man, with short, curly hair, and one eye floating. I would liken him to Abdal-'Uzza ibn Qatan. Whoever amongst you lives to see him should recite the opening ayat of Surat'al-Kahf. He will appear on the way between Syria and Iraq, and will create disaster left and right. O servants of Allah, adhere to the Path of Truth.'
We said,'O Messenger of Allah, for the day which is like a year, will one day's prayers be sufficient?' He said, 'No, you must make an estimate of the time, and then observe the prayers.'
We asked,'O Messenger of Allah, how quickly will he walk upon the earth?' He said,'Like a cloud driven by the wind. He will come to the people and call them (to a false religion), and they will believe in him and respond to him. He will issue a command to the sky, and it will rain; and to the earth, and it will produce crops. After grazing on these crops, their animals will return with their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. Then he will come to another people and will call them (to a false religion), but they will reject his call. He will depart from them; they will suffer famine and will possess nothing in the form of wealth. Then he will pass through the wasteland and will say, "Bring forth your treasures", and the treasures will come forth, like swarms of bees. Then he will call a man brimming with youth; he will strike him with a sword and cut him in two, then place the two pieces at the distance between an archer and his target. Then he will call him, and the young man will come running and laughing.
'At that point, Allah will send the Messiah, son of Mary, and he will descend to the white minaret in the east of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, beads of perspiration will fall from it, and when he raises his head, beads like pearls will scatter from it. Every kafir who smells his fragrance will die, and his breath will reach as far as he can see. He will search for the Dajjal until he finds him at the gate of Ludd (the biblical Lydda, now known as Lod) where he will kill him.
'Then a people whom Allah has protected will come to Jesus son of Mary, and he will wipe their faces (i.e. wipe the traces of hardship from their faces) and tell them of their status in Paradise. At that time Allah will reveal to Jesus: "I have brought forth some of My servants whom no-one will be able to fight. Take My servants safely to at-Tur."
'Then Allah will send Gog and Magog, and they will swarm down from every slope. The first of them will pass by the Lake of Tiberias, and will drink some of its water; the last of them will pass by it and say,'"There used to be water here". Jesus, the Prophet of Allah, and his Companions will be besieged until a bull's head will be dearer to them than one hundred dinars are to you nowadays.
'Then Jesus and his Companions will pray to Allah, and He will send insects who will bite the people of Gog and Magog on their necks, so that in the morning they will all perish as one. Then Jesus and his Companions will come down and will not find any nook or cranny on earth which is free from their putrid stench. Jesus and his Companions will again pray to Allah, Who will send birds like the necks of camels; they will seize the bodies of Gog and Magog and throw them wherever Allah wills.
Then Allah will send rain which no house or tent will be able to keep out, and the earth will be cleansed, until it will look like a mirror. Then the earth will be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing. On that day, a group of people will be able to eat from a single pomegranate and seek shelter under its skin (i.e. the fruit will be so large). A milch-camel will give so much milk that a whole party will be able to drink from it; a cow will give so much milk that a whole tribe will be able to drink from it; and a milch-sheep will give so much milk that a whole family will be able to drink from it.
At that time, Allah will send a pleasant wind which will soothe them even under their armpits, and will take the soul of every Muslim. Only the most wicked people will be left, and they will fornicate like asses; then the Last Hour will come upon them.' (It was related by Muslim).
From Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him:
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: 'On the night of the Isra (the Night Journey), I met my father Abraham, Moses and Jesus, and they discussed the Hour. The matter was referred first to Abraham, then to Moses, and both said, "I have no knowledge of it."
Then it was referred to Jesus, who said, "No-one knows about its timing except Allah; what my Lord told me was that the Dajjal will appear, and when he sees me he will begin to melt like lead. Allah will destroy him when he sees me. The Muslims will fight against the kafirun, and even the trees and rocks will say,'O Muslim, there is a kafir hiding behind me - come and kill him!' Allah will destroy the kafirun, and the people will return to their own lands.
Then Gog and Magog will appear from all directions, eating and drinking every-thing they find. The people will complain to me, so I will pray to Allah and He will destroy them, so that the earth will be filled with their stench. Allah will send rain which will wash their bodies into the sea. My Lord has told me that when that happens, the Hour will be very close, like a pregnant woman whose time is due, but her family do not know exactly when she will deliver."' (It was related by Ahmad. ibn Hanbal).
To conclude, Dajjal the individual [the Sick Man of Humanity] will be the final embodiment of all that denotes the way of kufr. The Mahdi will be the final human embodiment of all that it is possible to follow in the way of Islam - for only the Prophet Muhammad was in a position to be all of the Qu'ran walking, may the blessings and peace of Allah be on him. When these two opposites meet, everyone will have a choice - and when Jesus has come again, and the final conflict has been resolved, then the choice will be even clearer. All this, however, lies in the future, and in the meantime every-one has a choice, the same choice, between iman and kufr.
It is not possible to defer making your choice between the two alternatives until a later date, since once you know that you have a choice, it must be made. Right now the choice is yours. The Qur'an is crystal clear as to what will happen when the opposites meet: Allah gives victory to the ones who trust in Allah, over the ones who reject Allah. The Qur'an is crystal clear as to what will happen to you after your death. If you trusted in Allah and followed the way of His Prophet Muhammad, then you will be for the Garden. If you rejected Allah and refused to follow the way of His Prophet Muhammad, then you will be for the Fire. For ever. Right now the choice is yours.
Once you know about the way of Muhammad, the living life transaction of Islam, no other life transaction is acceptable to Allah. Surely the life transaction with Allah is Islam. Right now the choice is yours.
Gog and Magog (Excerpts from Islam in Andalus by Ahmad Thomson)
It is interesting to note in passing that it was during 'Abdu'r-Rahman III's reign, in about 960 AD, that his Sephardhic Jewish foreign minister, Hasdai ibn Shaprut, corresponded with the Khazar Jews of the Caucasus, a turkic tribe who inhabited the lands between the Black and the Caspian seas, and who had embraced Judaism for reasons of political expediency some two and a half centuries earlier, almost exactly at the same time that the Muslims arrived in Andalus.
Hasdai ibn Shaprut wished to establish whether or not the Khazar, or Ashkenazi, Jews were descended from any of the 'lost' ten tribes of the Tribe of Israel who, after the ancient kingdom of King Solomon had split in two, had first been rejected and disowned by the other two tribes of the Tribe of Israel, the Judahites and the Levites, and then had subsequently 'disappeared' from Jewish history after being either annihilated or taken as captives to Nineveh by the Assyrians in 722 BC:
King Joseph categorically stated in his reply that there was no such connection whatsoever. In providing a genealogy of his people, King Joseph, writes Arthur Koestler in his book, The Thirteenth Tribe, "cannot, and does not, claim for them Semitic descent; he traces their ancestry not to Shem, but to Noah's third son, Japheth; or more precisely to Japheth's grandson Togarma, the ancestor of all Turkish tribes." [A. Thomson, The Next World Order]
The answer of King Joseph is very significant, not only because it confirms conclusively that the Khazar, or Ashkenazi, Jews are not 'semitic' (since all semites are descended from Shem, son of Noah), but also because the uncle of Togarma, according to Genesis 10: 2-3, was Magog, while Ashkenaz was the son of Gomer, son of Japheth. In other words:
It is therefore clear that the Khazar Jews are not descended from any of the original twelve tribes that formed the original Tribe of Israel, but rather are directly related to the people of Gog and Magog (Jewj wa Ma'Jewj). [A. Thomson, The Next World Order]

There were certain sign predicted by the Bible which were to herald man’s doomsday. Dine, Israel’s chief lobbyist in Washington, Mr. Reagan expressed a stark view of where events were moving in Lebanon. “We got to find a settlement there,” he said. “You know I turn back to your ancient prophets in the Old Testament, and sign foretelling Armageddon, and I find myself wondering if - if we are the generation that’s going to see that come about. I don’t know if you’ve noted any of those prophecies lately, but, believe me they certainly describe the times they are going through.” [N.Y. Times, 25 November, 1983]
